Early Years
In the Kuwait Bilingual School 2 Early Years program, we are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing, and dynamic environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Our Early Years program, which is part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), is designed to inspire young learners and guide them through their early educational experiences with a strong foundation in inquiry-based learning.

Highlight of Program
Our Early Years curriculum is built on a balanced approach that integrates play-based learning, technology, social-emotional development, and student agency. We believe that early education should not only build academic foundations but also nurture emotional resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging. In Early Years, our goal is to empower each child to become an active, compassionate, lifelong learner. Through engaging play experiences, we nurture critical thinking skills, encourage collaboration, and foster a deep understanding of the world.
As part of the IB PYP, our curriculum embraces high quality teaching and learning through a holistic, inquiry-based framework that develops young learners into globally-minded individuals.
We prioritize:
Bilingual Education
English and Arabic language classes to strengthen multilingual communication. Our commitment to fostering multilingualism complements our mission of developing well-rounded individuals prepared for a diverse world.
Cultural Awareness
Islamic and Quranic studies that reinforce identity, respect, and a deeper understanding of heritage, helping scholars build a strong moral and ethical compass.
Global Citizenship in the Early Years through
the IB Learner Profile
IB Learner Profile attributes that shape students into principled, open-minded thinkers.
At KBS2, we integrate the IB Learner Profile into every aspect of the Early Years experience. The IB Learner Profile consists of ten key attributes that shape students into principled, open-minded, and reflective individuals. These attributes are woven into daily learning experiences, guiding scholars to develop a strong sense of self, empathy for others, and a deep commitment to making a difference in the world.
Inquirers
We nurture curiosity and a love for learning by encouraging scholars to ask questions, explore ideas, and seek solutions.
Knowledgeable
Scholars build a broad understanding of global issues, integrating diverse subjects to develop well-rounded perspectives.
Thinkers
Through play and inquiry, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, allowing them to make thoughtful decisions.
Communicators
Our bilingual approach ensures that scholars confidently express themselves in multiple languages, fostering strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
Principled
Honesty, integrity, and fairness are at the core of our teaching. Scholars learn to take responsibility for their actions and uphold ethical values.
Open-Minded
Exposure to different cultures and perspectives encourages students to appreciate diversity, respect others, and embrace new ideas.
Caring
Social-emotional learning through CharacterStrong reinforces kindness, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.
Courageous (Risk-Takers)
We create a safe space where scholars feel confident in trying new things, expressing their ideas, and stepping outside of their comfort zones.
Balanced
Physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being are nurtured through a holistic approach that includes play, mindfulness, and social interaction.
Reflective
Scholars learn to think about their learning experiences, set goals, and continuously grow through self-awareness and personal reflection.

By integrating these attributes into our Early Years program, we empower young learners to be confident, compassionate, and engaged members of the global community. At KBS2, we believe that fostering these qualities early on builds a foundation for lifelong success-helping scholars grow into ethical leaders, critical thinkers, and active global citizens.
Understanding and managing emotions, developing positive relationships, and making responsible decisions are essential skills for success. CharacterStrong provides our young learners with structured social-emotional learning (SEL) experiences that teach kindness, empathy, and perseverance. Through these lessons, students learn how to express themselves, collaborate with others, and build strong character-skills that are invaluable in both school and life.
In today’s digital world, technology plays a crucial role in learning. At KBS 2, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) classes begin in Early Years, introducing scholars to foundational digital literacy skills in a developmentally appropriate way. From exploring basic coding concepts to using interactive tools that enhance creativity and problem-solving, our young learners develop confidence in navigating technology while fostering critical thinking and inquiry.
We believe that every child is capable of taking ownership of their learning. Our approach encourages student agency, allowing scholars to make choices, ask questions, and engage in self-directed exploration. By providing a safe and stimulating environment, we empower students to develop a sense of responsibility for their learning journey, nurturing independence and a strong sense of self.
